Last month, Windsor Smith, the newest guest designer to join Arteriors, graciously hosted a 3 day photo and video shoot in her amazing Los Angeles home. We invaded her tranquil oasis with photographers and their assistants, electricians, and stylists in tow—all in an effort to capture the new items in this debut collection within the space she originally imagined them.
"It's important to me, when I'm going through the product design process, to actually have these pieces in my home...to let them rest and land in different places, so I can see and understand how they function in different rooms," says Windsor. "Being able to shoot them and visually document how I would use them in my own home is the perfect litmus test.”
In this 40 piece collection, Windsor nods to classicism with her own uniquely modern twist. She pares down iconic motifs of Greco-Roman detailing with new simplicity to mingle well with the clean lines and finishes of Danish Modern. The juxtaposition creates an appeal that feels both now and timeless. Windsor's goal for this debut collection was to create the heirlooms of tomorrow, and we think that she has done just that. The structured elegance of the collection looks glamorous and luxurious next to the rich colors and architectural features in Windsor's home.
We are excited to give you the first peak of the Arteriors by Windsor Smith collection!
The extremely practical Mercury Sconce pivots to allow the customization of the light source: top, bottom, or side depending on what you want to highlight. Finished in polished nickel, this light is at its essence classically simple and completely modern.
A modern interpretation of the purity of form of Greek and Roman columns, the 8-light Hera Oval Pendant uses glass cylinder rods to provide the exterior frame of this oval shaped fixture. The antique brass finish on the delicate metal frame, candelabra lighting, and glass create a striking pendant that would be stunning as a single or in pairs in a dining room or master suite.
The vintage silver Crete Lamp takes a simplified interpretation of the classic Greek laurel wreath and pairs it with a thoroughly modern soft grey oval shade to create the perfect balance between old and new. Constructed of plated iron, this lamp would be gorgeous as a single or in pairs in a family room, study, bedroom, or an entry space.
The unique Adonia Sconce is designed using a beautiful twisted horn shape that is lacquered in white with vintage brass detailing at each end, giving it a refined and sophisticated feel. Topped with a simple half shade in a soft grey fabric, this light would be gorgeous in pairs in a powder room, entry, or master suite.
The Athena Sconce is equal parts neo-classical, traditional, and contemporary. The squared chain drop and elegantly shaped cage in antique brass provide the perfect vessel to house the clear crystal sphere, which is illuminated from a halogen bulb set above. The beautifully twisted Titan Horn Sculpture has been cast in resin then lacquered in high gloss white. The ends have been detailed with vintage silver castings to give a simple yet stunning accent to this modern décor piece. The artisan beauty of the suede bands handwoven into a simple basket weave pattern that is stretched around the sleek and modern brass frame, makes the Elis Bench both a statement piece and a practical seating option. Influenced by equestrian culture and the juxtaposition of the materials, this bench brings texture and modern style to any room.
A modern interpretation of the purity of form of Greek and Roman columns, the 6-light Hera Octagon Chandelier uses glass cylinder rods to provide the exterior frame of this octagon shaped fixture. The antique brass finish on the delicate metal frame, candelabra lighting, and glass creates a striking pendant that is stunning as a single over a bar or in pairs in a dining room or master suite. The urn has to be one of the most defining shapes of Ancient Greece and Rome. This interpretation is actually constructed of the highest quality marble-like resin making it lighter, but no less beautiful than its marble ancestors. The Larissa Urn adds classic beauty to a mantel or table.

The Larissa Lamp with modern chocolate brown shade will add classic beauty to any room. The neo-classical details of the Pax Console Table were derived from the perfect symmetry of ancient Greek and Roman columns. The polished nickel legs give the table a modern, clean line, but the base and capital of the legs and the table’s edge are made of finely etched polished brass with refined classic patterns. Topped with clear mirror, this table would give classic sophistication to an entry, library, or living room.
Playing off of the classic geometric hexagonal shape, the antique brass wall mounted Atlas Sconce is both classic and contemporary. The chunky chain link drop and translucent glass chimney insert add to the clean and modern appeal of this piece. The Pax Side Table takes its inspiration from the perfect simplistic beauty of ancient Greek and Roman Columns. The rounded legs in polished nickel give a clean, modern line to the table. The polished brass base and capital are finely etched with classic detail and they are topped with beautiful white marble.
